After choosing your keywords and optimizing your website for the search engines, using internet marketing methods such as article marketing, forum posting, commenting on blog posts and submitting your site to the web directories all create links pointing back to your site.

The more links that you have pointing back to your site, the higher up in the search engine results your site will appear. So when you are just getting started and have only a few back-links pointing to your site, it may well be way down on page 100 of Google.

As you build more back-links, your site will start working its way up the rankings, until one day you find you are on page 1 of Google for your chosen keyword. This will result in your website receiving lots of free targeted traffic.

Keep your website fresh and up-to-date by continually adding new and unique content. This will create a feeding frenzy amongst the search engines as they thrive on finding unique content to index.

The building phase of an online business is ongoing. So marketing an internet business online is something you never stop. You need to maintain your top search engine rankings and stay ahead of your competition by continually increasing your back-links and you will certainly experience online business success.
