What Does An Effective Affiliate Marketing Strategy Involve?
It is probably no surprise to learn that an effective affiliate marketing strategy involves getting as much targeted to your affiliate product sales page as possible. Generating enough targeted traffic starts with choosing a product or service that is guaranteed to generate interest and then to convert into sales.
Part of an effective affiliate marketing strategy is ensuring that you leverage off the merchant’s time and effort that has been put into the product or service. Experienced and skilled merchants will know that the more their affiliates are selling, the more they will earn. So they will continue to test and tweak the product’s or service’s sales page to turn it into the most compelling offer possible that makes it hard for people to refuse once they land on the page.
When searching for affiliate products to sell look for sales pages that have a compelling headline, are simple and clean, provide testimonials and if possible even a timer that shows people how long they have to claim the product or possibly the bonus that comes with it.
Having chosen a product with a proven sales page and conversion rate then you need to get as much targeted traffic to the offer as possible. There are a number of ways you can do this including by advertising with pay-per-click, banner adverts, classified adverts, etc. Alternatively you can set up a content blog or website that provides useful information on the niche of the product or service you are selling.
If you are an affiliate marketing newbie then a blog might be the easiest way to get started and a WordPress blog is often the most highly recommended because it comes with many free plugins that will allow you to be more visible to the search engines. There are programs just as “My Affiliate Power Site” where you can get your own ready made affiliate blog.
A very important part of any kind of affiliate marketing plan of action is keyword research. Once you have chosen the product or service that you want to promote, choose the keywords that you are going to use to get traffic to your link or to your website or blog. As a newbie you will want to choose less competitive keywords at first.
You can use Google Adwords free Keyword Research Tool and type in the general term that describes your product’s niche. It will then provide you with all the related search terms that people are actually using when they go to their browser and do a search. You will also be able to see how often each term is searched, how competitive each term is and what people are bidding on this term in PPC ads, etc.
Begin with lower-searched terms and use these in your blog or website content or in your direct link advertising methods. Once you start to get more visitors, then you can start using more competitive terms in your affiliate marketing strategy.
